Sequel Spotlight #2: Daughter of the Siren Queen by Trisha Levenseller (Daughter of the Pirate King #2)

After much flailing with Alexa of Alexa Loves Books about all of the upcoming sequels being released in 2018, we thought it would be fun to start a monthly feature together to spotlight those that we’re most excited for.  And so, Sequel Spotlight was born! Each month we’re going to be talking about a newly released sequel along with why we’re hyped for it or why we loved it (if we’ve already had the chance to read it!).

This month we’re focusing on Daughter of the Siren Queen by Trisha Levenseller (Daughter of the Pirate King #2).  Just like our last sequel spotlight, Daughter of the Siren Queen is also the conclusion to a duology.  It follows Alosa, the daughter of the pirate king, as she continues to search for the siren treasure.  Alosa is a fiery red head who’s full of sarcasm and it’s impossible not to fall in love with her and her mostly female crew.  In the first book, she staged her capture aboard the Night Farer so she could obtain the final piece of a map leading to the siren island but things didn’t go exactly as planned.

Why I’m Excited: The first book left off with a major action scene and I couldn’t wait to see how the next part of Alosa’s adventure would unfold.  I’ve actually already read Daughter of the Siren Queen and I loved it (I’ll be reviewing it on my YouTube channel next week)! Overall, the series is a fast paced pirate adventure story that I definitely foresee myself re-reading in the future.  I love seeing the female pirates kicking the butts of everyone who underestimates them and I’m all for anything involving sirens!

This is one I’ve really been looking forward to, and I’m actually kind of glad to hear it’s only going to be a duology! I can’t get enough of the covers for this series, too!
