Bryant Park Holiday Shops

On Thursday night I met up with Alexa and Rachel to check out the Bryant Park Holiday Shops.  We made a point to visit before Thanksgiving because starting Black Friday, the crowds can get unbearable.  Though I recommend visiting on a weeknight for a less chaotic experience if you can swing it! Our first stop was to The Stackery in The Lodge area.  We had been there last year but they came up with some new dessert options this year and Rachel and I had our hearts set on the Elf’s Brew.  This chimney cake comes lined with cookie butter and two speculoos cookies adorning the top.  It’s all filled with coffee which was completely unexpected.  Since I’m not a coffee drinker, I ended up pouring mine out but the initial soak made the chimney cake softer and quite delicious!  Alexa opted for a hot chocolate version that I would be tempted to get if it weren’t for the marshmallows.  We found an adorable little wintery set up in the corner, snapped some photos on it and near the wall of string lights, and then headed out to get Big Mozz.  Big Mozz has the most delicious mozzarella sticks. Next we did a double loop around the shops to visit old favorites (ie. The Strand, the puzzle store, Melsy’s illustrations) and we all ended up purchasing barrettes from Mulberry & Grand.  I also bought a leopard print hat to keep the cold out.  I wasn’t dresed very appropriately for the weather (opting only for a leather jacket and infinity scarf), so when I got home and changed into a fleece and went under all of my blankets, it still took me hours to warm up!

I love Mulberry & Grand! I got the cutest necklaces from them last year. I’m actually going there next week, and I’ve been eyeing the chimney cakes, so thanks for mentioning the coffee thing because I’m not a fan either.

I’m truly happy we made our visit early and avoided the crowds! It was a nice way to kick off the festive season together, and getting dessert AND mozzarella sticks was a total win.
