Momofuku Noodle Bar

Last night, Alexa, Rachel and I went out to Momofuku Noodle Bar for our annual holiday dinner! Noodle Bar is by far the restaurant that I’ve frequented the most in NYC since moving.  I basically live for their carmelized shiitake buns (pro tip: they’re cooked in pork fat so I always ask for a vegetarian version when I order).  My other go to is their ginger scallion ramen.  Unlike other ramen, there’s no broth so if you’re looking for soup, you may be disappointed.  I really love their noodles and the garlic sauce they’re cooked in is delicious.  Another recent favorite is their dessert.  It’s a coconut cheesecake sprinkled with ginger cookies and mango sauce.  It’s the perfect dish, especially to share after enjoying the main course.  I also really enjoy trying their drink specials.  A couple of months ago I had the best apple pie slushie and while I was tempted to get the hot apple cider last night, we all opted for the blueberry cream soda!

  1. I have never even heard of a shiitake mushroom bun, that is genius! I am not sure I have anywhere near my that serves those… but I will have to keep my eye out. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with friends!
