Fashion Favorites: Golden Globes 2019

One of my favorite things to do after an awards show is to look at all of the photos from the red carpet and pick out my personal fashion favorites of the night.  The last time I did a blog post about it was way back in 2015 for the Oscars but I felt the urge to share my favorites again this year! Full disclosure, I never watch awards shows and I don’t even know who some of the people I’m mentioning here are! I’m more interested in the dresses and I’ll watch highlight clips on YouTube, but I tend to get bored by speeches and the winners almost never align with my tastes.  This year, my favorites are:

Reese Witherspoon in Roland Mouret

Reese can pretty much do no wrong in my book.  She always looks stunning, chooses styles that truly flatter her, always looks timeless and classic, and this look is no exception.  I also think the bold cuff was such a great accessory choice!

Taylor Swift in Etro Couture

I love the color combination of Taylor’s dress! It’s so beautiful and I love the understated earrings she paired it with.  It’s also making me wish for Springtime!

Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent

I love the mixing of patterns in Zoe’s look.  The black belt really pulls the whole outfit together and I love the silhouette she opted to wear. The black and white is so classic and I also really love her earrings.

Kaitlyn Denver in Maison Valentino

Obsessed with this look.  There’s something about puff sleeves that really draws me in (I blame Anne of Green Gables).  I think the shape of the dress is perfect.  I love how the tapered waist offsets the volume of the sleeves and skirt.

Gillian Anderson in Safiyaa

Gillian looks so beautiful in white and I love how the asymmetry of her dress makes the style feel updated and modern while still maintaining a classic feel.

Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte

I’m a sucker for anything in a soft pink and I love all the lace of Kirsten’s look.  I’m typically not the hugest fan of the neckline, but I think it works for this dress and I love the bodice and the ruffle detailing on the drop waist skirt.

Dakota Fanning in Dior Haute Couture

Again with those puff sleeves! More than anything though, I adore the braided belt on the empire waist and the lilac is so soft and pretty!

Rachel Brosnahan in Michael Kors Collection

The deep plum is so seasonally appropriate and the deep v-neckline looks so classy.  I also like that she opted to wear earrings instead of a necklace which would’ve drawn additional attention to her neckline.

Jennifer Aniston in Dior Haute Couture

Jennifer looks amazing! I love everything about the shape of her dress from the bust to the train on her skirt! The black is so classic and chic and I love that the waist is belted.  I also love how timeless this look is!

Beanie Feldstein in Oscar de la Renta

If I’m learning anything from this recap, it’s that I have an obsession with belted waists that I hadn’t previously known about.  I love the navy coloring of this dress, the intricate trimming that extends from the bust to off the shoulders and how perfectly the braided headband and earrings complete the look.

Rachel Weisz in Tom Ford

I love the extra bit of sparkle around the band of the dress and the classic black.  But Rachel really makes my list for the perfect bow necklace that totally ties this whole outfit together.

Idina Menzel in Paule Ka

I also seem to be loving those winter whites! Idina’s dress reminds me of Hillary Duff’s recent wedding dress, as well as something Princess Leia would don, so you know I can’t resist!

I absolutely loved Taylor Swift’s dress! It is exactly the sort of print I’d buy a dress in myself, and it looked stunning on her. Also a big fan of Kirsten Dunst’s because that color and style is beautiful!
