Broadway & All That Jazz

I absolutely love attending Broadway shows and I couldn’t be in a better place to do so! I was a late bloomer when it came to Broadway (though not by choice!). I’d always been dying to see shows, but growing up, my family just weren’t city people.  We had planned a few Broadway trips but they never ended up working out.  When I started my second year of college, I was also working full time at Bloomingdales on 59th Street.  Since I was a college student with little responsibility outside of school and work, I would often catch Broadway shows by myself after work.  It’s a really interesting experience to go alone, but I’m glad I did so or I wouldn’t have seen as many shows as I have! The first show I ever saw was The Little Mermaid in 2007 (this one I saw with my mom, grandma, two cousins and my aunt).  I can remember who I saw every single show with and at what point in my life I saw them.  Each memory is one that I’m very thankful for.  There’s just something so exhilarating about live performance.  I love stories in all mediums, but I particularly love Broadway.  It’s flashy.  It’s exciting. And every performance is a one of a kind experience for that audience.

There are currently 41 Broadway theaters in New York City and a goal of mine has been to get to them all.  I thought it would be fun to outline my progress here as well as keep track of the shows I’ve been to by theater! I currently have 17 theaters to go and I’ve seen 35 shows in total. I formatted this post as a dedicated page so it can be found in the menu bar for easy reference. Here’s a photo of the Playbills from some of my favorite productions!
